ZTE completes Bite transport network overhaul

17 Oct 2013

Chinese vendor ZTE has announced that it has completed its modernisation of Bite Latvia Mobile’s transport network, as part of the operator’s efforts to cope with rising demand for data services. ZTE replaced the telco’s original SDH/TDM network devices with its ZXCTN series full IP packet transport network (PTN) equipment. ZTE also provided its NetNumen U31 unified network management system, which enables fast end-to-end operations, maintenance and troubleshooting, thereby reducing operating and upkeep costs. The vendor added that the system would make it easier for Bite to plan and implement future upgrades to its backhaul capacity according to projected traffic growth.
