ELTA Technology and Aptilo Networks enable Wi-Fi offloading for Taiwanese duo

16 Oct 2013

Taiwanese operators Chunghwa Telecom and FarEasTone (FET) have partnered with telecoms systems integrator ELTA Technology and mobile data offloading solutions provider Aptilo Networks to enable Wi-Fi offloading. It is understood that the two telcos are using the Aptilo Service Management Platform (SMP), which delivers mobile data services for wireless networks, with Aptilo Wi-Fi Offloading solution and SIM Authentication Server, the latter of which securely and automatically connects subscribers to the Wi-Fi network, for a seamless login and exceptional Wi-Fi offloading experience.

Commenting on the development, Peter Cheng, Vice President and CTO at ELTA Technology, noted: ‘The mobile data market in Taiwan is on a significant growth path. Now is the time for carriers to deploy service provider Wi-Fi and offloading solutions not only to alleviate traffic on crowded mobile data networks, but also as a way to increase customer loyalty by providing carrier-class Wi-Fi services.’
