P4 passes ten million subscriber milestone

11 Oct 2013

Polish wireless provider P4, which offers services under the Play banner, has booked revenues of PLN2.55 billion (USD821.67 million) for the first nine months of 2013, an increase of 5% year-on-year. Retail revenues grew by 24% compared to the corresponding period of 2012, although this was offset by a 42% decrease in wholesale turnover. P4’s CEO Joergen Bang-Jensen attributed the growth to the company’s expanding user base, which reached ten million by end-September 2013, and an increase in ARPU due to greater data consumption amongst pre-paid users and a rise in the popularity of premium unlimited tariffs. The official added that the make-up of P4’s customer base was largely unchanged, divided roughly 44%/56% between pre-paid/post-paid subscriptions.
