US telco CenturyLink has revealed plans to expand its 1Gbps pilot network pilot to Las Vegas, Nevada, with selected neighbourhoods in the desert city likely to receive connectivity later this autumn. Additional areas are likely to receive the service in 2014. Previously, in May this year the company announced the deployment of a Gigabit network in Omaha, Nebraska, with that particular service expected to go live this month. According to a report by technology website GigaOm, prices are listed at USD79.95 a month for a standalone 1Gbps broadband service, rising to USD124.94 per month when bundled with the company’s pay-TV service.
