Indonesia’s PT Power Telecom (PowerTel), a leading provider of dark fibre infrastructure in Indonesia, has teamed up with UK-based communications specialist Epsilon to extend local fibre access to international network operators within the Jakarta metro area. The companies will offer fibre connectivity to the area’s largest data centres Cyber One and Cyber CXJ, before expanding to other major facilities in the coming months.
Epsilon currently has two nodes live connecting Indonesia to Singapore giving its 500+ pre-connected network operators direct access to the Indonesian market. International network operators will be able to use Epsilon’s metro fibre footprint in Jakarta for local access to commercial buildings and data centres sites in Jakarta. For its part, PowerTel will use the agreement to serve local enterprises and service providers with lit fibre capacity.
PowerTel also has access to Epsilon’s Global Network Exchange, which offers connectivity to customers in more than 170 countries worldwide.
