Netia to double 100Mbps broadband footprint by end-2014

Polish internet service provider (ISP) Netia is planning to expand its high speed broadband service ‘Foton’ to more than two million homes by the end of 2014, local news portal Media2 writes. Netia’s Foton offering uses VDSL, fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technologies to deliver download speeds of up to 100Mbps and is currently available to around one million households. In terms of spending, Netia plans to invest between PLN200 million and PLN250 million (USD64.7 million to USD80.9 million) over the coming year.
