19 Sep 2013

Norwegian-backed cellco Uninor has achieved breakeven point in two more operating areas, Reuters reports citing the company’s chief executive Yogesh Malik. Uninor, which is majority-owned by Norway’s Telenor Group, achieved EBITDA breakeven in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh West, bringing the total number of circles in which the provider has met its target to five of the six areas in which it operates. The sixth, Maharashtra, is expected to achieve breakeven before the end of the year. As previously noted by CommsUpdate, Uninor has already reached breakeven point in Uttar Pradesh East (November 2012), Gujarat (May 2013) and Andhra Pradesh (July 2013).
