Telkomsel to deploy LTE in Bali ahead of APEC summit

Telkomsel, Indonesia’s largest mobile operator by subscribers, has unveiled plans to deploy a 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Nusa Dua, Bali ahead of the imminent Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. Telkomsel will deploy a total of 39 1800MHz base transceiver stations (BTS), each of which will support around 300 users. 5,000 LTE-suitable SIM cards are expected to be made available for use during the conference, which commences on 5 October.
