The United Arab Emirates (UAE) telco Du has upgraded its next generation managed IP telephony services which currently serve more than 25,000 business customers. The firm said the enhanced solution will offer the country’s first high definition (HD) video calling, plus Single Number Reach, which allows callers to contact recipients using a single number, and Digital Attendant, an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) service which allows callers to automatically locate departments and people within an organisation without the need for an operator.
Du launched services in 2007 and, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, now claims around 45% of the wireless market in the UAE, 15% of the broadband internet sector and 18% of the wireline telephony segment in terms of subscriber numbers.
