State-backed internet service provider (ISP) Yatanarpon Teleport (YTP) has signed a deal to work with Epsilon, a global communications service provider, to deliver local data access services in Myanmar. Under the agreement, YTP will interconnect its data access network to Epsilon’s global network exchange, boosting international connectivity for local and foreign businesses. Andreas Hipp, CEO at Epsilon, commented on the deal: ‘When telecoms laws are finally passed in Myanmar, we are in a position to begin offering local access services in the country and help to spur on economic growth as well as infrastructure development. We have had a very successful relationship with YTP in supporting their voice services and we look forward to expanding our co-operation to cover data services as well.’
