Dutch users can now benefit from a wider choice of streaming services, following the announcement that Netflix has launched commercially in the Netherlands. Telecompaper reports that Dutch subscribers will pay EUR7.99 (USD10.59) per month to obtain ‘unlimited’ access to Netflix’s library of movies and TV programmes via its online streaming service. Netflix says the new offer supports a range of internet-ready TVs, mobile handsets, portable devices, tablets, PCs and gaming consoles and allows each subscriber a maximum six connections. The streaming service is available in standard and high definition (HD), with the former requiring a minimum 512kbps connection and 5Mbps for HD. Further, the over-the-top (OTT) provider says it is offering a ‘Super HD’ option (minimum 7Mbps) and 3D (12Mbps).
