Green Packet says it has not received a formal offer for Packet One stake

11 Sep 2013

Hot on the heels of suggestions that Malaysian cellco DiGi Telecommunications could make a bid for WiMAX operator Packet One (P1), the latter’s owner has denied that an offer had been made. The Star Online cites a statement from local equipment vendor and P1 parent Green Packet as saying: ‘The company wishes to announce that as at to-date, it has not received any offer to purchase its shareholdings in P1,’ However, in its reply to a Bursa Malaysia query the company did note that, with a view to maximising shareholder returns, it would ‘continuously pursue possibilities of collaborations and partnerships to complement the company’s business strategy’.
