German regional cable operators Unitymedia and PrimaCom are teaming up to provide high speed internet, fixed telephony and television services in Neuss, Nettetal, Norvenich, Niederzier and Rahden. Through the cooperation, around 36,000 households in the five areas of North Rhine-Westphalia will be able to access the internet at download speeds of up to 150Mbps. The network upgrade forms part of an agreement signed between Liberty Global-owned Unitymedia and PrimaCom for the rollout of high speed services to 44,000 homes in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse. Under the contract, PrimaCom’s networks in Hesse were upgraded towards the end of 2012.
