KDG to widen VoD footprint

6 Sep 2013

German cable network operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG) plans to expand availability of its video-on-demand (VoD) service to a further million households by summer 2014. The company’s ‘Select Video’ offering currently covers around ten cities, including Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg and Munich, but coverage will gradually be increased to a number of new locations, such as Leipzig and Mainz. Kabel Deutschland, which is in the process of being bought by Vodafone Group, launched its VoD service in March 2011, offering an extensive library of film and television content.
