PLDT’s Smart holds further LTE-A tests

Smart Communications, the mobile arm of Filipino telecoms behemoth Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), has reportedly carried out further tests of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) services in Metro Manila and Davao. According to Telecompaper the company recently trialled LTE-A in Makati City, achieving peak data transmission speeds of 209.66Mbps. However, at the recent Kadayawan festival, held in Davao City, Smart’s LTE-A network reportedly reached a peak speed of 210.58Mbps.
