ArmenTel, which offers fixed and mobile services under the banner Beeline, has announced the latest expansion of its mobile network in Armenia, improving service coverage in remote border areas. Earlier this month the company extended its infrastructure in the vicinity of the eastern boundary of the Syunik region, making its voice and 3G mobile internet services available to people living there. ArmenTel managing director Andrew Pyatakhin notes that in the first quarter of this year, the cellular arm leap-frogged its rivals to become the fastest growing player in the broadband internet segment, thanks to its long term investment in the region.
