Megacom continues rural expansion

Kyrgyz mobile market leader Megacom has announced the expansion of its 2G network coverage and capacity across remote and rural villages in the provinces of Issyk-Kul, Chuy, Osh and Naryn. The company has also rolled out its third-generation network in the At-Bashi and Aktala areas of Naryn, with 3.5G base stations also installed in the villages of Sary-Oi, Cholpon-Ata and Karakol (all Issyk-Kul), Uchkun and Ak-Tal (Naryn), Tokmok and Kara-Balta (Chuy), as well as the capital Bishkek. Megacom aims to cover 95% of the population by the end of the year.
