Art attack? MTS acquires regional ISP

Russian telecoms giant Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has reportedly acquired regional internet service provider (ISP) Art Telecom, which is based in the Buryatia Republic, Siberia. An unconfirmed report by RIA Novosti indicates that the acquisition will see MTS extend its fixed broadband coverage to 42,600 households in the city of Ulan-Ude, up from its current footprint of 14,600 households. No financial details relating to the acquisition have been disclosed.
