Telstra Global snags concession to operate in Taiwan

13 Aug 2013

Telstra Global, which provides managed network services and international data, voice and satellite services, has confirmed that it has secured a licence to operate and sell telecommunications carrier services to both multinational corporations and carrier customers within Taiwan. With the company noting that it already provides network capabilities to a number of multinational organisations connecting to Taiwan, it confirmed that its Operation Licence for Type II Telecommunications Business will allow it to provide network services inside and outside of the country, which it said would reaffirm ‘its ongoing commitment to serving the needs of multinational customers in the Asia Pacific region’. In addition, the concession reportedly provides the opportunity for Telstra Global to expand its Points of Presence (PoPs) in Taiwan and enhance its service-level offering and resiliency. The licence itself was actually granted to Telstra Global in June 2013.
