Telekom Austria has reported group revenues of EUR1.043 billion (USD1.391 billion) for the three months ended 30 June 2013, down 1.2% year-on-year. The company has blamed the slump on ‘regulatory burden, fierce competition and macroeconomic headwinds in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)’. Comparative EBITDA for the April-June period dropped 9.5% on an annualised basis, to EUR330.3 million, despite improvements in Belarus and Telekom’s ‘Additional Markets’ (Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia). The company’s operating income increased 6.4%, to EUR105.5 million, with net income growing 54.2% to EUR52.5 million for the three-month period under review. Meanwhile, CAPEX dropped 4.7% y-o-y to EUR176.4 million.
