7 Aug 2013

The Slovak Antitrust Office (PMU) has cleared the acquisition of pay-TV operator Digi Slovakia by incumbent PSTN operator Slovak Telekom, which the Slovak Spectator reports. Romanian-based RCS&RDS agreed to sell 100% of Digi Slovakia to Slovak Telekom in May. Digi Slovakia was launched in 2006, and reported some 45,000 cable TV and 260,000 satellite direct-to-home (DTH) subscribers in Slovakia by end-2011 (latest available figures), and also has an unreported number of cable broadband customers, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
