Mobitel, SilkNet licence terms extended

The Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) has announced that it has extended the terms of the radio frequency spectrum licences held by Mobitel (Beeline) and SilkNet for a further ten-year period. SilkNet, which holds a nationwide permit for mobile and fixed communications services, is required to pay GEL11.939 million (USD7.2 million) for the extension of its licence, while Mobitel (Beeline) will pay GEL16.177 million to increase the validity of its national mobile concession.
