Congstar, the no-frills brand of German telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom (DT), is set to launch a new fibre broadband tariff in Cologne, Bonn, Aachen and the surrounding areas, following the signing of a cooperation agreement with regional operator NetCologne. On 1 August Congstar will begin marketing ‘congstar komplett 2 Glasfaser’, which costs EUR39.99 (USD53) per month on a two-year contract and offers a 100Mbps broadband connection and a fixed telephony line. The company press release adds that under a partnership agreement between the two companies, NetCologne will be able to use DT’s own fibre-optic network from 2014.
