Cell C adds one million gross connections in July alone

31 Jul 2013

South African mobile operator Cell C has revealed that it signed up over one million customers this month – the first time the operator has achieved such strong growth. CEO Alan Knott-Craig told MyBroadband.co.za: ‘I am exceptionally proud and excited to announce that for the first time in the history of Cell C we have connected more than one million customers in one month. Last night [29 July] we broke through the million gross connections barrier, bringing our total customer base to over 11.7 million’. However, Knott-Craig admitted that churn is still high, meaning that net additions for the month of July were far lower, totalling 338,000 connections.
