Telekom Malaysia extends availability of IPTV service to xDSL subscribers

30 Jul 2013

Telekom Malaysia™ has announced that its IPTV service, which is offered under the ‘HyppTV’ banner, will be available nationwide to customers signed up to its ‘Streamyx’ xDSL broadband service. For new and existing Streamyx 8Mbps customers, HyppTV will be offered as part of the telco’s triple-play bundle comprising fixed voice, broadband and IPTV for MYR160 (USD49.6) a month, while Streamyx 4Mbps customers can take up HyppTV as an add-on for MYR30 per month from the existing double-play service comprising voice and internet.

With the pay-TV option has previously been restricted to those signed up to TM’s fibre-based broadband UniFi product, the operator has also confirmed that existing and new IPTV subscribers will be able to take up ‘HyppTV Everywhere’, a multi-screen offering that it says will enable customers to watch television anywhere and anytime. Offered as an add-on service for current UniFi and Streamyx customers, as well as new subscribers, it costs MYR5 per month for the option allowing simultaneous streaming on two devices or MYR10 per month for five devices.
