Angola Telecom says TV Cabo’s triple-play also available to its users via new build fibre

Angola Telecom says a new triple-play voice, TV and broadband service via direct fibre access is now available for around 3,180 residences in the newly built district of Kilamba in Luanda following a USD2.5 million investment in a partnership rollout with its 50%-owned subsidiary TV Cabo. ANGOP reports that the fibre-based service should be available to the whole of Kilamba by 2014, covering more than 7,000 subscribers.

As reported last week by CommsUpdate, cable and fibre network operator TV Cabo has announced the launch of triple-play TV channel, broadband and telephony packages ‘available on both SIP and analogue telephones’. TV Cabo’s website is offering the ‘VIV’ branded triple-play packages in six variants, and says voice services are available ‘for all its customers.’ VIV packages start from a promotional price of AOA7,800 (USD80.85) per month for new customers with entry-level 512kbps internet and basic 43-channel bundle, while voice calls are free between VIV customers.
