NetCologne expands fibre-optic network to Frechen

26 Jul 2013

Regional telecoms operator NetCologne has announced plans to roll out a high speed fibre-optic network in parts of Frechen, a town in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, from the end of the month. The company claims that around 3,000 households and 300 businesses across seven locations will be able to access the new network, which will provide maximum download speeds of up to 50Mbps. The first customers are expected to be connected in early 2014, with the Cologne-based company offering its ‘Doppelflat’ 50Mbps and fixed telephony flat rate plan for EUR29.90 (USD39.3) per month for the first twelve months.
