Mauritel, the Mauritanian subsidiary of Maroc Telecom, has posted a solid rise in revenue for the first six months of 2013, its parent company has announced. In the six month period ended 30 June Mauritel generated sales of MAD737 million (USD87 million), an improvement of 10.5% year-on-year. Of this figure, MAD673 million was attributed to mobile services, compared to MAD607 million in 1H12. In operational terms Mauritel saw its mobile user base grow 2.3% y-o-y to two million. ARPU for the six month period under review was MAD54.6, up 1.4% from MAD53.8 in 1H12. Meanwhile, the company’s wireline and broadband users grew to 42,126 (4.2%), respectively.
