SSTL expands Rev B footprint

25 Jul 2013

Russian-backed cellco Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL), which operates under the MTS India banner, has enhanced its CDMA2000 1x EV-DO networks with the Rev B upgrade in four cities in Rajasthan, Telecom Tiger reports. The cellco rolled out Rev B in Bhiwadi, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur, the first additional cities to receive the upgrade since its inauguration on SSTL’s network in Jaipur in September 2011. Ashish Bhatia, the cellco’s chief operating officer for the Rajasthan circle said that the service, which offers potential downlink speeds of up to 9.8Mbps and is marketed under the ‘MBlazw Ultra’ name, was ‘targeted at the young, tech savvy generation,’ adding that the boosted network ‘will significantly enhance customer experience while accessing streaming multimedia.’
