PLDT says new ‘telpad’ product will grow revenue to PHP1bn by end-2013

24 Jul 2013

The BusinessMirror newspaper reports that Filipino communications giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) yesterday unveiled a new landline-and-tablet product, dubbed ‘telpad’, which it hopes will grow its PLDT Home Business revenue base from only PHP135 million (USD3.13 million) at present, to about PHP1 billion by the end of this year. Officials working at the division say that the new landline-and-tablet offering will hopefully attract new customers and help it to attain its target revenue flows during the year. Ariel Fermin, executive vice president and head of PLDT Home Business, said: ‘As part of our commitment of offering our subscribers with quality service, we are rolling out the dual-core telpad with its enhanced features and new multimedia capabilities … Our aim is to transform all PLDT subscribers into a connected home with the telpad as the third screen along with the TV and the personal computer, providing consumers an integrated approach in offering the best of voice, broadband, music, games and movies.’
