Francisco Galliano, the president of wireline operator Compania Paraguaya de Comunicaciones (Copaco), has denied that the state-backed company’s mobile subsidiary Vox has been promised a USD16 million credit line. Local media reports have suggested that the firm scooped the windfall through a universal service tender, but has yet to meet the coverage objectives, an accusation that Galliano is at pains to deny.
