Haiti launches auction for MNP central management system

Haiti telecoms watchdog the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL) has launched a public auction to find a company to implement a central Mobile Number Portability (MNP) database in Haiti, according to notice CNT-13-AO-01, dated 15 July 2013. According to a press release, the tender is also open to international applicants, and the auction documents can be obtained for a fee of HTG25,000 (USD577). Interested parties need to submit their bids in accordance with the relevant documentation, and pay a security of 2% of the bid amount by 30 August 2013. The auction is set to take place on the same day, at the conference room of the regulator’s headquarters in Port-au-Prince, in the presence of qualified bidders or their representatives. CONATEL also stated that participants will be bound by their bid for a period of 60 calendar days from the date of submission. The regulator also announced that the implementation of the system should take effect by the end of Q1 2014.
