MTel rolls out HD package via ADSL/VDSL

11 Jul 2013

Hungary’s dominant telecoms operator Magyar Telekom (MTel), backed by German giant Deutsche Telekom, has introduced a new high definition (HD) residential package – Family+HD – which will be sold as part of its TV product portfolio on a range of different platforms. Broadband TV News reports that as such, HD channels will now be made available to end users as part of the basic package for no additional fee – for IPTV and satellite TV subscribers – although cable-based TV viewers will be subject to different terms and conditions. MTel says it has also expanded its HD offerings to customers in all areas served by its ADSL and VDSL footprint, where it claims to offer them at ‘favourable’ rates.
