Telemach acquires smaller rival Kabel TV

Dominant Slovenian cableco Telemach has acquired smaller cable network operator Kabel TV, which serves customers in the north-east of the country and claims a 4.6% cable TV market share, with revenues of EUR3.7 million (USD4.8 million) in 2012, according to Balkans.com. In comparison Telemach generated revenues of EUR65.6 million in 2012. Services offered by Telemach include high definition (HD) TV channels, time-shift, video-on-demand, mobile application ‘D3 GO’, high speed internet, mobile telephony (offered via resale) and digital fixed line telephony. Telemach is part of the United Group which also includes SBB, the largest cable operator in Serbia, and Bosnian cableco Telemach BiH. Subscriber to Telemach Slovenia’s digital phone service currently receive an additional 200 minutes of free national and international calls to landlines on all United Group networks.
