Globe extends Vibo promo in wake of strong take-up

9 Jul 2013

The Philippines’ second largest operator Globe Telecom has extended the duration of its free unlimited voice calls and SMS promotion Viber Chat in the wake of strong take-up from subscribers. The carrier is continuing to offer its Globe Prepaid GoUNLI25 bundled offer for PHP25 (USD0.06) per 24-hour period, without the need for Wi-Fi or additional data charges. The company’s GoUNLI25 plan allows its users to connect with any of their friends on the Globe network, as well as with other users subscribed to other networks both in the Philippines and abroad, for as long as these contacts have Viber accounts. The Viber service allows them to call, text and MMS each other wherever they are in the world. Globe Telecom says that the GoUNLI25 offer is also available for a three-day period, priced at PHP67, seven days at PHP150, and a 30-day option, costing PHP600. The success of the promotion has reportedly driven pre-paid subscribers acquisitions up by more than 500,000 in the first three months of this year.
