5 Jul 2013

Swedish-owned telecoms operator Tele2 Germany has launched an ‘Allnet Flat’ mobile voice plan using the wireless network of E-Plus, the local unit of Dutch group KPN Telecom. The tariff is aimed at consumers who make frequent telephone calls rather than mobile internet users. With the 24-month Allnet Flat tariff plan, customers are able to make unlimited calls to all German fixed and mobile networks for EUR9.95 (USD12.9) per month for the first year and EUR14.95 a month thereafter; data is charged at EUR0.99 per MB, while text messages cost EUR0.09 each, though users can add on an unlimited SMS option for an additional EUR5 per month. A second plan, which includes a mobile internet allowance, costs EUR14.95 per month for the first year and EUR19.95 thereafter; it includes unlimited calls and 500MB of data per month for surfing the internet at download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps.
