TEO rebrands Wi-Fi service amid rising usage

4 Jul 2013

TEO LT, Lithuania’s incumbent fixed line operator, has rebranded its public Wi-Fi service from ‘ZEBRA Wireless’ to ‘TEO Wi-Fi’ and has introduced a new pricing structure for the wireless internet offering. From the start of the month, subscribers of the firm’s residential and business internet products will pay LTL5 (USD1.9) per month for the hotspot service and for non-TEO customers it will cost LTL10 per month. All users of the ZEBRA internet plans ‘Optimal’, ‘Optimal Plus’, ‘Premium’ and ‘Premium Plus’ will have access to TEO Wi-Fi for free. ‘Seeing that the usage and popularity of this service is growing, we want to develop it further and offer consumers more convenient usage at better price,’ commented TEO chief marketing officer Nerijus Ivanauskas, adding: ‘TEO Wi-Fi is valued by smart device users mostly for its high data rate and unlimited data volume – this service is rapidly gaining popularity among those willing to not calculate the megabytes of data used and to work conveniently outside the office – in a cafe or a city park.’ There are currently almost 3,000 TEO Wi-Fi hotspots in Lithuania.
