Cablecom snaps up Telecarouge

UPC Cablecom, Switzerland’s second largest broadband service provider by subscribers, has purchased a 51% stake in regional cable operator Telecarouge from the city of Carouge, increasing its ownership of the company to 100%. The US-backed cableco had previously owned a 49% share in the company and the value of the sale was not made public. Telecarouge’s network covers 8,000 households in Carouge in the Geneva Canton.
