3 Jul 2013

USConnect, a consortium of independent telcos that united in March 2013 with the purpose of acquiring rural and independent communications providers, has reached an agreement to acquire Texas-based Livingston Telephone. Fierce Telecom reports that the initial independent investors in USConnect include Brazoria Telephone, Dickey Rural Telephone, Farmers Telephone, Golden West and Horry Telephone. After meeting customary regulatory approvals, USConnect said the deal is expected to be completed by 4Q13. ‘The Livingston Telephone acquisition represents the first transaction USConnect expects to announce over the coming months,’ the consortium added.
