Datora Telecom, Ericsson go live with unified billing solution

Datora Telecom, one of the first companies in Brazil to be given the go ahead to launch mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services in the country, says its new Ericsson-supplied unified charging and billing platform is now live. The Swedish equipment maker was selected to implement and manage the end-to-end platform to support the MVNO, encompassing the complete software and hardware for the technological platform, as well as providing support and consultation as part of a wider managed services agreement. The system is designed to increase the efficiency of Datora’s collections process, increase overall business performance by maximising its revenue generating potential. The new MVNO says that the new platform has allowed it to successfully launch Brazil’s first virtual reseller operation, while keeping CAPEX and OPEX to a minimum.

Datora Telecom is a leading telecoms group in Brazil, offering a range of innovative products and services to its clients for 19 years, including termination, transportation and outsourcing services. It is also licensed to operate fixed telephony and internet services, and provides services to users through the Tempo brand, and to corporate users through the Ora brand. As a pioneer of voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) services in Latin America, the company was also first to apply for an MVNO licence from Brazil’s national regulator Anatel.
