Following an upgrade of its wireless infrastructure, Lithuanian mobile operator Bite has announced that it has boosted the maximum mobile internet speeds available across its entire wireless infrastructure. The company says that the upgrade has increased the average mobile internet speed by around 90% for users of the Vodafone Mobile Connect modem, as well as the latest smartphone handsets, while users of older devices can expect their average connection speed to increase by 20%-30%. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database states that Bite Lithuania is the country’s smallest of three mobile network operators, with a market share of around 22.1% at the end of March 2013, behind TeliaSonera-owned market leader Omnitel (40.6%) and second-placed Tele2 Lithuania.
