Greece’s National Telecommunications & Post Commission (EETT) has launched an open public tender to select a contractor for project development, installation and maintenance of the country’s National Reference Database for Number Portability (EVDAF), covering operation and management of the database for five years. Bids can be submitted until 29 August 2013. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database says that Greece introduced mobile number portability (MNP) in April 2004 and fixed number portability (FNP) in October that year, and that by the end of 2012 around three million mobile phone numbers and 3.3 million fixed line numbers had been ported, up from 2.55 million and 2.74 million numbers respectively a year earlier; the EVDAF database has been run by Telcordia.
