TIM LTE network now available in 139 municipalities

Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) has announced that its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network now covers a total of 139 municipalities, offering outdoor coverage of more than 25% of the population. The network, which offers data transmission at speeds of up to 100Mbps/50Mbps (down/uplink), has been extended to Trieste, Novara, Lecce, Ragusa, Gela, Carpi and Casoria. Further, TIM notes that of those municipalities already covered by its 4G network, 47 are broadly classified as medium or large cities, including: Rome, Milan, Brescia, Turin, Bologna, Venice, Trento, Genoa, Pisa, Naples, Bari, Taranto and Palermo.
