Vodafone receives additional 2G spectrum

India’s government has confirmed the allocation of additional 2G spectrum to Vodafone in all 14 service areas, reports The Economic Times newspaper. The UK-based company won the frequencies in an auction in November 2012. In March 2013 Videocon became the first company to receive its spectrum from the November 2012 auction, with Vodafone now becoming the second. Airtel, Idea Cellular and Uninor are all yet to receive their spectrum.
