Parliament approves Telekom Slovenije privatisation plan

24 Jun 2013

A recently-announced government plan to privatise Slovenian incumbent telco Telekom Slovenije was approved by Parliament on Friday as part of a package of privatisations covering 15 state enterprises, including Adria Airways, Nova KBM bank, chemical processing company Cinkarna Celje, and bread/pasta factory Zito. EuropeOnline magazine reports that a 46-20 vote gave the go-ahead to seek buyers for government stakes in the companies, as part of Slovenia’s efforts to avoid a European Union bailout.
