Ericsson to manage Zain’s field operations in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s third largest telco in terms of subscribers Zain Saudi Arabia (formerly Saudi MTC) has awarded Ericsson a three-year contract to manage its field operations in the Kingdom. Ericsson’s responsibilities under the contract include day-to-day operations and maintenance of Zain’s active and passive infrastructure, in addition to corrective and preventive maintenance services. The contract is the first collaboration between Ericsson and Zain in Saudi Arabia, and will allow the provision of enhanced network quality and speed to Zain’s subscribers, according to Ericsson’s press release. Ericsson Saudi Arabia director Ali Eid said: ‘In order to proactively handle the evolution towards a Networked Society in Saudi Arabia, network performance and managing the customer expectations have become more important than ever. Our new partnership with Zain will help Zain to offer differentiated customer experience, strengthen their competitive edge through improving network availability and capacity.’
