Bluegrass Cellular chooses Exalt for 2G/3G/4G backhaul

Kentucky-based Bluegrass Cellular has selected Exalt Communications to provide cell site backhaul to its core network. The Exalt systems backhaul mobile traffic from more than 150 cell sites to Bluegrass Cellular’s core fibre network, and despite the mountainous terrain in the area, the systems have thus far remained reliable in extreme weather conditions. Amir Zoufonoun, CEO of Exalt, commented: ‘Mobile operators like Bluegrass Cellular are bringing rural communities opportunities for economic development, jobs, education, healthcare … but their networks are straining under the bandwidth demands of LTE service’.
