DISH and nTelos commence fixed wireless LTE trial

US satellite giant DISH Network and wireless operator nTelos have begun a fixed wireless broadband trial in Virgina using Long Term Evolution (LTE) in the 2.5GHz band. The trial involves the installation of rooftop devices, and speeds at initial test sites are reportedly ranging from 20Mbps to 50Mbps. The two companies have not disclosed details on the duration of the trial or indeed any plans for expansion.
