Lattelecom to expand fibre footprint to 58% of homes

State-backed telco Lattelecom is planning to increase the coverage of its fibre-optic broadband access (FTTx) network to reach 484,000 households across the country, representing around 58% of all homes in Latvia, by the end of the year, it announced in a press release. The expansion work has so far covered 8,000 households, mainly in Riga and Kurzeme. The telco added that it aims to reach 75% fibre coverage ‘in the coming years.’
