HOT Mobile celebrates subscriber milestone

Israeli wireless network operator HOT Mobile has now reportedly signed up more than 500,000 customers, according to Globes Online. As noted in TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, the cellco inaugurated its UMTS network on 14 May 2012, signing up 142,000 subscribers within its first six weeks in operation, a figure that had risen to 250,000 within ten weeks. With the operator also offering iDEN services under the MIRS Communications banner, as at end-March 2013 the operator’s total subscriber base stood at 758,000. To celebrate the subscriber milestone, HOT Mobile has said it will offer the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy Advance handsets at a reduced price this weekend for its customers.
